 Dr. Pollock can provide veterinary services for both the herd or an individual backyard pet. Small ruminants include goats, sheep and camelids. We are happy to see your backyard poultry as well.

Herd Health

Topics relating to herd health include:

      • In my experience, parasites are one of the leading cause of illness and death of small ruminants and can be minimized with proper herd management

    • Nutrition and body condition scoring

Surgery

Surgical procedures performed (not a complete list).  Some of the more common surgeries:

  • Castration

  • Disbudding: buck kids should be disbudded no later than 3 days of age to help prevent scur formation (breed dependent) and doelings by 7 days of age.

  • Lacerations
